Shadae Scott, 26, was arrested Sunday evening at her Broward County home and charged with domestic battery after her boyfriend, Kevin Wiggins, suffered cuts to his face, head, and hand from Scott’s pink pocket knife.
Wiggins said Scott argued with him after his dog ate her stash of marijuana. She was in the process of kicking him out of her apartment, when he says he couldn’t find his computer. That’s when he says Scott stabbed him.
Scott told Sheriff’s Deputy Laughten Hall they were simply arguing over dinner plans. She says she tried to leave the apartment and Wiggins got physical with her.
“During one of the many times during the argument, Wiggins walked into the knife and cut himself,” she told police, according to the arrest report.
Hall said he saw three small lacerations on Wiggins, including one over his left ear.
Broward County Judge John “Jay” Hurley read out an arrest report that said Scott had been dating Higgins for six months and they have no children.
The judge set her bond at $3,500. Scott is now prohibited from possessing a knife and from being within 500 feet of Wiggins. She has no prior criminal record. On Monday she was being held at Paul Rein Detention Facility.
It is unclear whether the dog is in good health.
